We couldn't get reservation in restaurant and they apparently book up fast even during the week. We did get good food in the bar but have to say Florentine was good and PoBoy was as well but the Signature Cheesecake with Blueberries was outstanding. See pics
We were at the bar last night to watch the jays game and had some pizza and dessert they were very good the staff was incredibly busy but were still very nice and accommodating the drinks are great and the food as well i will be back.
The cured horseradish and beet salmon with black current (I think) amuse bouche was tasty. This was also served with molasses bread and molasses butter. I make a pretty good molasses bread myself and this one was underwhelming. My husband had the escargot served with pearl onions and mushrooms which he enjoyed immensely. Midway through the meal another larger, somewhat high maintenance table was seated and our server became quite busy with them. In the meantime our pan seared scallops and risotto were served by support staff without explanation of what else was on the plate. The plate was smeared with a thick sauce that tasted like beet. It was good. The scallops were cooked to perfection. The risotto was flavourful but the texture was a slight miss as it was not really creamy - maybe overcooked? For dessert we had the scone with blueberries, mascarpone and bit of vanilla ice cream. It was just ok. Overall, the food was good, atmosphere nice and service ok--the main should have been explained and water glasses topped up. High end menus require more attention to the little things.
I wonder if they changed chefs lately, because we did not have a good experience with the food. The morning buffet was ok, but the orders "a la carte" were low average and we had to return the Eggs Benedict- bad sauce, badly cooked eggs and suspect the bacon was past due date. For supper we had the charcuterie plate, it was just ok.On the other hand, outstanding service.
