We traveled from the east mids to cornwall and wanted a good honest pub meal to dinner. After a small search we came across the western inn and it was directly on our road. phoneed to book a table, as during the holiday season is busy everywhere! when we arrived, the staff were friendly and welcomed directly from the side. sitting in the sleeper, and we both chose the rumpsteak. the menu is small, but it's not a problem because there is a good choice and it only shows the difference that a huge menu with 40 strange elements, as eating was nice. everything was sharp, good portions and as I said, nicely cooked. if they are looking for a lonely local pub, this is where they want to look. the locals created a good atmosphere, the personal was fab and the eating was brilliant.
Great local pub with great food Theme nights and good place to watch rugby .. dog friendly too!!!
Pub beside old bridge. Took part in the pub quiz and met some lovely locals who had connections to Ireland. Food and drinks were great and served by efficient and friendly staff.
This review is all about context. After a busy day, for some reason, it felt like the whole world came to a halt in St. Austell around half-past five. Everything was closed except for the Western Inn. I must say, it’s a genuine spot. Although it was quiet after a hectic weekend of football, they welcomed us and served us a hearty meal. It wasn't fancy by any means, but we were starving, and I truly appreciated the food. Honestly, I don't know what we would have done without it!
