The Cornish Bakery - St Austell

Excellent service and delightful saffron cakes, with a welcoming and friendly staff.

I regularly visit the Cornish Bakery in Mevagissey. I really enjoy their decaf latte and Cornish pudding. The staff is always professional, friendly, and helpful. They never seem to be bothered by anything.

I really enjoy a good Cornish pasty, and this place offers quite a variety of fillings to choose from. My favorite is the steak and Stilton. Plus, after a certain time in the evening, all pasties are just £1.50, which is a fantastic deal!

During our visit to Cornwall, we were craving authentic Cornish pasties for lunch, and our oldest child was eager to try one as well. Fortunately, we came across a representative from the Cornish Bakery offering free samples. Our eldest loved it so much that we decided to buy a few large pasties for ourselves and some small ones for the kids. Before long, they were piping hot and absolutely delicious. We'll definitely be returning for pasties the next time we’re in Mevagissey!

I picked up a large pasty, and it was nothing short of the best I’ve ever had. Packed with a generous amount of meat and vegetables, it not only looked fantastic but also tasted incredible. The crust was perfectly balanced—not too hard and not overly crusty. It was so delicious that I couldn’t resist going back for a second pasty to take to my hotel! Having sampled pasties from various places across Cornwall, I can confidently say this bakery surpasses all others. Don’t just take my word for it—try one for yourself! I’m spending a week in Falmouth and wish I could pop back, but it’s quite a trek. I’ll definitely be returning next year! - Yvonne
