Presentation was really bad and the food is near the bottom of worst places I have dined. The staff were absolutely lovely however, very attentive and personable and I feel that corporate are letting them down.
Really not worth spending any money here. Pizza was terrible and barely cooked. Staff need more training, one literally took our dessert plate before we could even finish our food. Only booked here because 2 people in the group finished golf later than anticipated and it was easily located in the hotel. I wouldn't recommend and would definitely not eat again in staying at Fairmont Hotel
Firstly, I want to highlight how wonderful the staff were and how attractive the restaurant looked. The wine list started at £37, and thinking that a £37 Grillo should be a good choice, I went for that option. Unfortunately, it was rather bland and failed to impress. When my rabbit dish arrived, accompanied by an assortment of delicious mushrooms, I couldn't help but notice the appearance—it was quite dry, possibly a result of overcooking. It seemed like the chef had taken a machete to it, as there were little bone splinters throughout the dish. Overall, it was a disappointing experience and certainly not worth the premium prices they charge.
The dining experience was excellent, offering an authentic Italian atmosphere.
I was aware of the generally average reviews, but I decided to give this restaurant a chance. I regret that choice. Considering it is affiliated with a five-star hotel, the food was rather mediocre. The hotel’s management should take notice, as there are far better Italian restaurants in most Scottish towns than this one.
