The Bull - St Albans

I was very impressed during my first visit to this restaurant. The ambiance was lovely, the food was delicious, and the service from Claire and Gill was exceptional. I highly recommend dining here.

Lovely pub in the high street of St Albans, located near the clock tower. Loads of staff, our barman was friendly. Gin selection good. Even topical graffiti in the toilets :

The Bull is a lovely old pub/restaurant. Met there for a get together with some friends. For the main course, I chose the hake, and although it was very tasty, it just consisted of some mash potato with a small bit of spinach in the middle of the mash, and a tiny piece of Hake on top with a couple of spring onions, covered in a creamy sauce. Was really nice but a very small dish and expensive for what you got, at nearly £17 for the one course! The dessert I had was banoffee pie and it was delicious. The waitress was lovely and attentive. Also felt a bit chilly in there.

Absolutely love Jill/Gill , she’s amazing . Made everything about social distancing dinner so easy and such a joy to talk to. She’s an absolute credit to this restaurant. Dinner was delicious as were the cocktails .
