Akbar - Srinagar

Two nights here. Very good rooms, Polite hotel staff and good food. The bathrooms were clean and so were the rooms. Well maintained. In the rooms they have provisions for making tea coffee, they put tea coffee machine together with tea, coffee, sugar, milk bag. Hot water in the bathroom starts at 6 o'clock. It is two stolen buildings with about 15 levels for each floor. Did not find an elevator so if you have older people who cannot take the steps, ask for room on the ground floor. This hotel is next to the famous Dal Lake. You can take the Shiikara ride from the designated location of Dal Lake and you can fall in front of this hotel so you do not need to have a special arrangement for returning to this hotel after the ride. Hadn't found a parking lot for vehicles, not sure if they had it somewhere. I didn't take my vehicle, so I didn't find the need for it. There is a mosque right next to this hotel and another nearby, so at ~4:15, there is Ajaan from these two mosques. If you are not used on it, then it causes some disturbances when you sleep. It goes all the way to 4:45.

Overall review of hotel Akbar is fantastic, the location is still good, little bit awkward, rooms are good, staff are nice with their loyalty basis and behaviour. Dining is good. There is a centralised heater system but overall good

I visited the place in the high season. The hotel is very spacious. Location is located in the center of the city. The owner is an excellent guy and always available. The staff is friendly and ready to use. Room spacious and well lit. Some of the rooms in the accommodation are old and not to the standard of the hotel, so you have a view of the rooms first before booking. Garden is well maintained. All excursions can be booked by the hotel itself. Overall a very good experience. Very recommended for a budget of 4-5K per night.

Great location right in front of Dal Lake and good facilities at the hotel, but the best part is shown the hospitality of Zaffer, Dawood, Sadiq and staff. We feel very welcome and happy and treat ourselves like family. Organized everything for us in Srinagar and made the experience great. Thank you for everything, would definitely recommend Hotel Akbar!

I would like to thank Zaffer Sahab, Dawood Bhai and Sadiq Bhai for their kind hospitality. Our stay at Hotel Akbar was a second home, all our requirements were treated with extreme care. Special thanks to Sadiq for providing personal car and emergency efforts. We still renovate the taste of wonderful kabababs made at home for us. We experienced different seasons in these 10 days, had a great experience that would not have been possible without the generous efforts of the entire team. The rider Abid was a wonderful guide for us, he offered all kinds of support that was required. Last but not least, Zubair and Musharraf at the Hotel Akbar, Fayaz at the houseboat were great hosts to offer food and take special care. The hotel in Sonamarg was also a wonderful experience. We would definitely visit Kashmir again inshallah!!
