Mexican Villa - Springfield

By the way, to all those who say "it's not authentic Mexican food," you're missing the point. They're not aiming for authenticity, and everyone knows that. If you're looking for truly authentic Mexican food, you'll need to travel much closer to Mexico itself; you won't find it in Springfield, that’s for sure.

This location on National still offers the best Sancho Enchiladas among all the Springfield locations. Tonight, our server Makayla did an outstanding job attending to our party of eight, in addition to several other tables. I was with a few individuals who were somewhat dissatisfied, but I could see that she was putting in her best effort, so I wanted to take a moment to commend her service! She got every order right, and the food was absolutely delicious. Keep up the great work, and thank you for taking care of us!

A historic gem in the city, this restaurant serves authentic cuisine that really stands out. I was disappointed to find they didn't offer freshly made margaritas, but the Mexican Villa beer was a refreshing choice. The tamales were quite enjoyable, and the restaurant is well-known for its salsa, which comes in a range of heat levels. I particularly liked the mild salsa, as it had a touch of sweetness. Overall, it's a solid dining option in Springfield. While the atmosphere may not be the most vibrant, the delicious, authentic food more than compensates for it.

We absolutely love dining at this restaurant—it’s hands down the best among all the Mexican villas we've tried. Over the years, we've visited every one of them, and we used to frequent El Taco, but their menu has changed quite a bit since the old days, particularly before the pandemic. I ordered the Sancho enchilada style with beans and rice, and it was huge and delicious. My wife opted for a combo plate. The wait staff was incredibly friendly and readily assisted us with anything we needed for our meal. Whenever I crave Mexican food, this is the place I think of!

This restaurant is one of my favorites! They serve delicious food in generous portions at reasonable prices, all with a Tex-Mex twist. It’s a beloved tradition in Springfield. They have a sweet sauce for those who prefer something milder and an ultra-spicy sauce for the brave heat seekers. If you enjoy Mexican cuisine with an American flair, this is the perfect spot for you. It’s also kid-friendly, with accessible restrooms and parking, all at an affordable cost. I highly recommend it!
