El Toro - Springfield

Having grown up in Springfield, one of the most disappointing aspects of the area was when El Toro closed. My family used to dine here regularly for years, at least once or twice a week. The food is amazing. My go-to dish is the burrito fajitas texanas, which is both huge and delicious. I can't recall having a bad meal here. The only minor complaint might be that the tacos can be a bit underwhelming. The staff are all wonderful and they serve the best salsa and queso in town.

The service and food were excellent at the restaurant, but I was disappointed that I paid $13.95 for the carnitas and could not finish it, so I requested a take-home box. When I returned to my car, I noticed that I left the box on the table. My daughter went back to retrieve it, but it was already taken. I understand the fast turnover rate, but I was under the impression that the box would be set aside if the patron returned. Less than 5 minutes had passed, and no one seemed to be helpful or concerned. Overall, I was very disappointed with the situation.

The food arrived quickly and was very delicious. It was a great dining experience. The waiter was exceptionally professional and friendly.

Great food, great service and a great time. we're going back!

We have been here many times, always have had a great experience, but not today. My food was very good, but my wife did not get what she ordered. Our waitress didn't write down our order, then came back to question me as to what I'd ordered. She was very slow to check on us. We had to wait a long time to get a to- go box, refills, then the check. We could see her beside the bar just talking while we waited.
