Steak N Shake - Springfield

Next door to our hotel so we went. always good food. everything we expected. service well they give them the kittens they need without asking.

OK, The fast food industry is changing I know. But all the things I went to Steak and Shake are gone. The food is sub par, I don't appreciate staff cursing in the back ground, I always tip, but I don't appreciate walking in placing my order and having the cashier preaching they needed tips. Agreed with another comment, they won't be around much longer. Sad.....

Seemed very short staffed. People working were very frantic and even had to turn people away since they were so behind. There was no ice for drinks and food order was wrong. Not the greatest experience.

Driving through Illinois and remembered how great Steak and shake was....yes WAS! It tasted like dog food and had no flavor on the fries and the shake tasted like it had something else in it that was putrid. Talk about jumping the shark to the quality is used to be. The meat use to be meat but this was something totally different. YUK! I suggest you rethink this food for life.

Food is good, but the place is dirty. The floor especially, your shoes stick to it. Also didn't get our cheese with 2 orders of cheese fries.
