Prem Meats Spring Green

The menu selection at this restaurant is nice, but it can be frustrating trying to reach someone over the phone. This has wasted a lot of my time. However, if I am already on my way and know what I want, it's a great place for a quick stop.

Over the past two years, we have received a substantial amount of frozen, vacuum-sealed meat from Prem Meats as a Christmas gift. Each year, we received around 50lbs, so a lot of it needed to be stored in the freezer for the long term. Unfortunately, last year (2020), we were disappointed to find that a large percentage of the vacuum-sealed packages were damaged, poorly sealed, or not properly vacuumed, leading to quick freezer burn. We assumed this was a one-time issue due to the pandemic and a short turnaround time for our generous gift-givers. However, to our dismay, this year was no different. We have 20 pounds of meat, including expensive cuts like a Zartoin roast and a 10lb full packer brisket, that are not properly sealed and already showing signs of freezer burn after just a few weeks. Since this is a gift, we are unable to do anything about it. If we were paying customers, we would definitely ask for a refund. We can only urge our gift-givers and others to avoid making the same mistake and purchase their meat elsewhere.

We had our company Christmas party at Prems and everything was delicious. The prime rib was cooked perfectly and the garlic potatoes were creamy, not dry. I was very impressed and would recommend them as caterers.

Great selection to be in the middle of nothing. this place almost doubles a food store and they are usually ready to order special products and they support many local businesses?

Every chance I get when visiting the area, we stop for something. The sizzler steaks are always top on the list. Buried Treasure seasoning is difficult to find, they always have some. They have a huge beer and liquor section. The Prem bratwurst is excellent. The Prem beef jerky is excellent. Frozen items including steaks, chicken, and pork make it easy to take back home when camping nearby. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I have never needed to order anything special, or a specific cut but, I bet they could accommodate just about any request. Great butcher shop.
