The Original Neal's - Spring

The food was absolutely amazing! I had the half chicken, and my husband enjoyed a burger that had a delightful hint of chicken flavor. I would say we cleaned our plates, but we were simply too full to finish everything. The potato salad didn't really interest me, but everything else was PERFECT. We didn’t try dessert this time, but I’ve already bookmarked a few dishes on the menu for our next visit. As for the service, our waiter was fantastic! He was very helpful, though it seemed like he was the only server, which made the service a bit slow at times. However, as someone who frequently visits soul food restaurants across various states and who also enjoys cooking soul food, I understand that good soul food takes time to prepare. That’s just how it is! Meanwhile, the warm bread crumbs kept us satisfied as we waited. My family will definitely be returning!

After such a delightful visit, we returned just four days later, this time with our kids. They were thrilled with their cheeseburgers and fries, while I couldn't resist ordering the steak again. My wife had the grilled chicken once more, and she was just as pleased as before; it was perfectly cooked and well-seasoned. We’re excited to add this wonderful restaurant to our list of regular spots! Excellent job, everyone—great food and service!

My wife and I have been dining at Neal's for over 20 years. The original owner, Mr. Neal, was incredibly attentive to the quality of the food. The chicken steak was the best I've ever tasted; it was so tender that you could cut it with a fork. He also served slowly roasted pork ribs smothered in a beautifully tangy sauce. And let's not forget the desserts—oh my! The fresh blackberry cobbler and banana pudding were as good as the ones made by my grandmother and mother. Unfortunately, after Mr. Neal sold the restaurant, the quality declined steadily, and so did the number of customers. However, I’m thrilled to say that the restaurant has been reopened by former staff who have restored it to its former glory. People of Spring, wake up! Come back and enjoy the comfort food you grew up with. You won't regret it! We go there almost every week because there is endless pleasure to be found in this delicious menu. Bon appétit!

Cooking like Grandma makes up from scratch, friendly service, attentive but not transmitted. Will definitely return and recommend others. Thank you. Rare to have such a great restaurant and staff together!!

We were there yesterday for dinner. I had the cf chicken and hubby had cf steak and the meal was great! Great service, The waitress was friendly and very efficient, restaurant very clean. Great place to bring family and friends.
