Mata's Mexican And Grill - Spartanburg

Ate here the other day and the food was great! We went during a slow time, so we were the only people in there. Our server was great, very attentive. Between the two of us, we had enchiladas, a burrito, tacos, tamales, rice, beans, and their guacamole. Everything was hot, fresh and tasted amazing. Definitely planning my next visit. Update: I've visited several more times and always great!

I've always liked this place for the food and drink specials. But after not going there for a while I went back last week and it's even better! There is new Management now, new drink specials, and more help. It's like they kept everything good about the place and made a ton of improvements and all the areas they needed to! I highly recommend this restaurant.

Walked in at 750 (didn't notice note stating closing early on door manager (maybe owner ? let me and my husband know that she was closing at 8 due to her having a migraine ... but still offered us a chance to get our order to go, made me so happy! I'm pretty sure at that point the grills had been cleaned, food put away, etc. (the place was spotless basically but manager/owner assured us it was no problem. Our food was ready in less than 10 minutes and was DELICIOUS! We'll definitely be back to enjoy the atmosphere!

We stumbled across Mata's some time ago and let me tell you, we have never had a bad experience here. Service is great, the food is very tasty and the portions are above what you'd expect. The atmosphere is perfect, also. They serve this white salsa type dip with the regular salsa and it is to die for , the only issue I'd have with Mata's is sometimes, if you go late. They might be out of the white salsa. Hands down best Mexican food in Spartanburg!!
