If fast food was a sit-down restaurant ... I can 't get past the sticky carpet: the chair legs actually get stuck in it. In all fairness the food was not bad. I had the cheeseburger plate with an ample amount of seasoned fries. More than I could eat. The hushpuppies were good. If you like everything fried, then this place is for you... Went august 4 2023.Was very disappointed. Was out of some sides. Chicken livers were not as good as usual.Slaw was awful.Waitress said it is according to who makes it.floors sticky bad. Chairs shoes sticking to floors bad. Bathroom stinks at times like sewage the chicken stew okra, and hush puppies were good. Seems as if they are letting it go. I know there’s no one was there but us. Think I will not go back again and less I hear that it has improved.

Haven't eaten here in 20+ years but was in the area so I walked in 10 minutes before closing. They didn't seem too upset. I ordered a quart of chicken stew, a calabash chicken plate, a vegetable plate and a chili cheeseburger plate. Everything was good and still warm even after a 30 minute ride home. I would have given them 5 stars but the inability to have my burger cooked my way was a disappointment. The patty was past the point of well done. I was wanting it medium rare. They said they couldn't do it. I just asked them not to burn it. Mission failed. All in all not a bad meal. If ever back in the area, I'd visit again.

The chicken stew was as always wonderful,full of chicken. The hushpuppies are a great side item with the stew. Also just for measure we had the chicken salad,perfect. Oh yea,they have always made sure that take out orders do have enough crackers. The only negative,the hash was very salty.
