Flounder Seafood - Spartanburg

My wife and I had recently moved to the area and were looking for a restaurant with local flavor. As my wife was searching online, she came across The Flounder and we decided to give it a try. It turned out to be a fantastic choice. Don't let the long line deter you, as it only speaks to the quality of the restaurant and the experience you are about to have. The line moves quickly and once you are served, the food is on par with the finest seafood restaurants, but without the high cost. I can't praise this place enough. Outstanding! First time here, new to the area. We were greeted and seated promptly. Had the oyster stew to start things off and it was excellent. We had the fried flounder and shrimp plates. Both very good along with hush puppies, slaw, and baked potatoes. Everything was cooked to near perfection and serve hot by a friendly wait staff. The sweet tea was good too. This place will become a regular stop for our family tradition of going out to eat fish in Friday nights. Definitely will be back and will recommend it to others.

I was raised in the Fairforest community where the restaurant is located. Have eaten here since they opened. With no disrespect intended to the Almighty, The Flounder is one of the last, best, 'Honest to God ', Southern, Fish Camps around. I do not glibly rate an establishment as 'Five Star '. The Flounder sincerely earns and deserves it.

Hands down best seafood in South Carolina. A 'once a week ' for me, or more! Great food and even better hospitality.
