Ivan was our waiter each time and did an amazing job with our large group. This was by far our favorite restaurant of our vacation. Their breakfast was also just as great.
This is and has been an amazing food for at least 3 decades! When the original owner retired about 3 years ago, he was bought by a talented couple who had occupied the owner for years: a talented, experienced NYC cook and the other, a NYC businesswoman who got into the role of hostess and servers! As summer dwellers of Southwest Harbor for 30 years, this restaurant never disappoints ..only pleasures; From delicious, creative breakfast options, excessively filled lunch pancake sandwiches and the most beautiful dinner options to the most decadent desserts! The horse stable is phenomenal as well as its varied pasta dishes and local seafood entrees and daily specialties! The ambience is a pleasure: we love the terrace with garden foods dressed with the perfume of various herbs and seasonal flowers! Service never disappoints! All efforts are made to ensure an excellent culinary experience! Another favourite is their weekly Sunday wine down: 50% off bottles of wine from their excellent wine selection! I love their recommendations to accompany your selected duck! Recommend this food to anyone who is lucky to visit Southwest Harbor, Maine!
We didn't have a reservation on a busy night, but they made room for us. Kudos for that! The atmosphere outside and inside were phenomenal. Quaint and lively, with a great vibe. Having said that, we thought the food was good at best. Not fair, not great, just good. Keep in mind our family aren't seafood lovers. Cheers!
I went for lunch and invited two locals. Each one of us enjoyed our lunch. My lobster garden salad was expensive, but absolutely delicious.
Even better than they say! We tried another restaurant nearby for a late breakfast, but couldn't get the server to come to our table, much less bring menus or take an order. This turned out to be a very good thing, as our next attempt was Eat A Pita. Eat A Pita had excellent service, generous but not ridiculously large portions, great food and reasonable prices. Everything we had, from the Greek omelet to the Monte Cristo to the Cadillac Mountain, was excellent. We will be sure to make the trip again a happy experience in every way.
