Leon Bankside - Southwark

This is a great place for grabbing a quick bite. Good selection of salads and sandwiches. Reasonably priced.

Tate Modern had just opened and we had enjoyed the tour. Their cafe had not reopened so we went to Leon. A lucky find. Good menu and enjoyable food. The cost overall also very reasonable Well located and with nice outdoor seating nearby

I haven't eaten at a Leon for ages but standards of preparation and quality of food have definitely gone down. The rice box is paltry and I struggled to find anything in it apart from rice, despite claims to the contrary. Prices seem reasonable but...portions are small. Whilst packing is recyclable it is excessive in quantity. The menu used to be simpler but now it's got more fast-foody the basics are suffering. Even though it wasn't busy the food tasted as though it had been sitting around for a while and the speed with which we received it indicates that it had been. But more troubling was the lack of social distancing between the tables, the way you could sit at an uncleaned table which someone had just vacated without any cleaning happening in between and the fact that although there was a QR code for contact tracing no-one appeared to be using it or enforcing use of it. So it felt like an unaccountable hotbed of virus transmission! I would strongly discourage anyone who considers themselves vulnerable to the effects of Covid 19 from visiting.

Fast service and very tasty eating, also very healthy. the ordering process could be better because they need to use large touchscreens that are not very hygienic.

Great service during a very busy half-time lunch hour. fries, burgers and boxes were all nice and hot and service was fast considering how many orders came. round, a very tasty lunch and kudos to the team.
