Came to Don Miguels on high request of my partner, unfortunately will not be back. The venue had a weird vibe, almost felt we were intruding on a staff meeting. The octopus was over cooked, the main dish was oos, the dips tasted thawed - overall dissapointing.
I can't rate this place highly enough! If there were 10 stars... I'd be rating it a 15!This place is not just amazing - it's a must!It was our first visit and we will definitely be back! The owner and staff were so friendly and helpful from the time we arrived until the time we left. The food was well presented and absolutely delicious. In my opinion it was the best Tapas that I've ever eaten. The jug of Sangria complemented the food well as did the Spanish Red, recommended by the owner Michael. The mix of music created the perfect atmosphere. Don Miguel's is the perfect place for singles, couples, families, friends and would be the perfect venue for a party or celebration. It's easy to get to and the tram stops almost outside.I've been lucky enough to travel all over the world... and I have to say everything about this place was amazing!Thank you to Michael and the staff it was truly a memorable night xx
Don Miguels has become our local bar and restaurant. This is almost entirely because of the atmosphere and friendly personal service from Michael the passionate owner of Don Miguels. It doesn't hurt that they stock 65 beers and have the best Spanish food on the coast. The new $5 Fridays has created some memorable nights, new friends and a reason to get out and be social, which is something Southport needs a lot more of. I feel comfortable taking clients there for lunch or just stopping in on my own for a chat and a beer in the afternoon. We move to Southport from Brisbane 5 years ago and since Don Miguels opened we've had more of our friends visit to check out the food and fun we've been raving about. My partner had her birthday there and everyone still comments about the food and hospitality extended to us by Mike and his team. If you are a local this will quickly become your new homebase and if you're visiting then the regulars will warmly welcome you and make you feel right at home. The only downside of Don Miguels is that you'll want to eat there too often :)
The food was incredible. The food is the best I have had in Southport! Seriously if you love music and great quality food you have to visit this restaurant, you wont be disappointed.
