I tried the mussels, crab cakes, lobster flatbread, scallops, and herb raviolis with a cream sauce. While all the dishes were beautifully presented, I found the mussels to be too salty for my taste. The lobster flatbread was tasty, but nothing extraordinary as the flatbread itself was not house-made. The raviolis were delicious but quite filling with the generous portions and cream sauce. The scallop dish was on the pricier side for only three large scallops, but the sauce made with organic peas from their garden was a nice touch. The crab cakes were a standout dish, with a perfect blend of flavors. On Sunday evenings, there is live music in the pub, making it a nice spot to unwind after a meal at the inn. Overall, a good option for dining on the property.
My wife and I recently enjoyed a peaceful stay at the Inn. We were pleased with our decision to dine at the pub on our second evening. The fish was fresh and expertly cooked, and the desserts were superb.
The Pub at Newagen Seaside Inn offers a good selection of dishes, albeit slightly pricey. I tried the mussels, crab cake, pea ravioli with pea sauce, scallops, and lobster flatbread. While the presentation was pleasing, I found the mussels to be overly sauced and too salty for my taste. The lobster flatbread, while tasty, was not exceptional as the flatbread itself was not made on site. The ravioli stuffed with peas and served with pea sauce was a bit overwhelming, but still delicious. The scallop dish, featuring three large scallops with pea sauce, was on the expensive side. The restaurant prides itself on using homegrown, organic peas from their garden. The crab cakes were a standout, and I enjoyed the live band playing on Sunday nights. Overall, a good spot to dine at after checking in at the hotel.
I had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant. While visiting Boothbay for the weekend, I decided to try something new. The Pub is located inside the main building of an Inn, making for a short but scenic drive. Parking was a bit confusing, but once inside, the atmosphere was charmingly dark and cozy. The staff were all excellent, especially our waiter Rinaldo who was friendly even as the restaurant got busier. I enjoyed an Aperol Spritz before trying their warm lobster roll with butter (not mayo). It was delicious and priced lower than other restaurants in the area. The portion was just right for me, with the roll perfectly toasted and the lobster cooked to perfection. My dinner companion had muscles in broth and also enjoyed their dish. Unfortunately, I didn't have room for dessert, but I heard they have amazing bread pudding. I will definitely be returning for another great meal. Thank you!
I thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at this restaurant. We were in Boothbay for the weekend and decided to try a new place to eat. The pub is located in the main building of an inn, and although parking was a bit confusing, we were able to find a spot. We didn't make reservations in advance so we couldn't get a table with a view, but the inside was charmingly dark and cozy. The staff was friendly, especially our waiter Rinaldo, who provided great service even when the restaurant was busy. I tried an Aperol Spritz which was delicious. I ordered a warm lobster roll, which was different from the traditional cold lobster roll with mayo. The price was reasonable at $19 and the portion size was perfect for me. The lobster was cooked to perfection and the roll was warm and crispy. My dining companion enjoyed their mussels in broth as well. I regret not having room for dessert, especially after hearing about the bread pudding. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant. Thank you for a wonderful meal!
