Crete Greek Taverna - Southport

Great evening, delicious food and fantastic staff! definitely worth a visit :

We spent a few days in Southport recently. We came across this little gem. On entering there is a small courtyard which I guess is used in Summer, inside the tables were nicely spaced, hand gel on tables. The decor was truly Greek, (Greek owner/chef)with blue walls and plenty of Greek memorabilia around. It really felt like you were in a Greek restaurent on holiday. The staff were friendly, especially the lady from Romania whose name I have forgotten. Menu was very good. They even do an early evening menu which is a set price. We had some dips and pitta bread to start, then grilled prawns and Klefitko, both come with Greek salad chips and rice. We had a bottle of retsina, and my husband finished with a metaxa. The second night we had chicken souvlaki, mixed souvlaki again accompanied with Greek salad (the dressing was lovely) chips and rice. All washed down with Mythos beer. If you enjoy going on holiday to Greece, try this place you will not be disappointed. We will definately be back when we are next in Southport.

Brilliant food plenty of different dishes to pick from top standard

This place has never disappointed in the almost 20 years I've been coming here. Friendly staff, great food. 18 of us recently enjoyed a family celebration at the restaurant and we had a fantastic evening. Highly recommend

Fresh Homemade Greek food done properly . Such a hidden gem , food was what we excepted if not more . Amazing friendly staff who can’t do enough for you. Would highly recommend can’t wait to go back, the staff make this place gives you a real taste of Greece thank you
