Fishbone's West - Southfield

We arrived about five minutes before our reservation and had to sit at the bar since they wouldn't seat us until 80% of our party was there. We ended up waiting about 20 minutes before being seated. Our server, Nicole, was fantastic, which definitely improved our experience. The drinks were outstanding—make sure to try the Hurricane! Most of the food was enjoyable; the catfish beignets were a particular highlight! My salmon was slightly overcooked, but overall, we had a wonderful time and really enjoyed ourselves. I will definitely return!

The menu on their website promised sushi, but when we arrived, we found out there was no sushi chef available. My sister-in-law and I are gluten-free, and unfortunately, about 80% of the items on their gluten-free menu were crossed out. As a result, our dinners were quite disappointing. They did have a band playing that night, which was enjoyable, but the volume was so loud that we couldn't hear each other, which was frustrating.

The portions were quite small. However, the German chocolate cake was outstanding. Unfortunately, the calamari wasn’t hot enough when served.

Great food. Service a little slow but they looked to be understaffed. Can’t mark then down much for that these days.

Our server, Tony, was amazing. The food was very enjoyable. I always take some home to enjoy the next day.
