Madhatters Tea Room - Southend-on-Sea

I love this tee room! a very nice atmosphere and many delicious tees and cakes. I also finally tried the jabberwocky... it was an experience sure:

Great food. Staff very friendly and we felt very comfortable. Everything was prepared quickly which was great considering we were there during the busy lunchtime period.

Had a wonderful brunch. The pancakes were lovely and soft, the sausages were fantastic (been a while since I've had great sausages pouched eggs were on point and the service was just perfect. Very hard to find any faults with this place. :

My friend and I booked this for my birthday treat. We had the festive afternoon tea, it was all easy to book and pay by card over the phone. We were seated quickly and asked which tea we would like really quickly. I would highly recommend the apply crumble tea, it really does taste like apple crumble. The food was all fresh and really yummy! The art work on the walls is stunning, even if you are not a fan of Alice in Wonderland you will be able to appreciate the beauty in the art work. It was quick and easy to get more tea when needed, the staff were polite and everyone in the tea room was relaxed and comfortable. I will definitely be going back and would definitely recommend it. I have already told my family all about it. Thank you so much!

Lovely place, beautiful decor, great quality food and a good selection of teas, cakes and sandwiches to choose from. I had to take away a star though because we were really disappointed with the staff. They didn't feel very welcoming, we were given no cutlery with our food, we had to get our own, no one asked how our meals were and they even rung up our bill abruptly. I would love to visit again but only if the atmosphere was more welcoming and friendly.
