Thyme, Premier Inn, Southampton, West Quay

I thought last night's meal was bad, but I hoped breakfast would be better. I asked for orange juice, but they said there was a shortage. The cooked breakfast was not good - the bacon was like cardboard, the black pudding was burnt, and the sausage was tough to cut through. When I asked at reception for a local shop for a newspaper, they didn't know. I asked for a feedback form and the manager said to ask in the restaurant, but I got the same response there. It seemed like the manager was avoiding me. Don't bother coming here for food, it's not worth the money. I have emailed Premier Inn directly, but I don't expect a response.

What a pleasant surprise! The food was delicious, but the highlight was the exceptional service provided by Mikhaela on the restaurant floor. Despite the busy atmosphere, she maintained constant efficiency and was incredibly friendly and helpful.

I have no complaints about the food, it is always cooked well and very tasty. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

I chose this 2 night pre cruise stay ,added the meal deal .Two course evening meal plus drink and full breakfast Needed to pre book time for dinner and breakfast.Restaurant,was busy but staff very efficient and friendly.Menu had the classics so was spoilt for choice .

We both had the Smothered Chicken together with a bottle of white wine. We really enjoyed our meal and found the staff very friendly and helpful.
