The Chilworth Arms - Southampton

When we were there, they did not have our booking, I said I have booked over open table and they had no recording of it, need to be something wrong their end they need to fix happiness, they could fit us, good eating, great service and friendly atmosphere

First, the table correctly booked online, not reached the pub and therefore at the arrival we had no table. we had to wait a minute. the service was very slow. we had to ask twice that water is delivered to the table. the waitress was not familiar with whispering. the desert commanded what we were told was new in the menu a catastrophe. it was like a piece of frozen Arctic roll with a draw ice on the top covered with some meringue. it should not have been served. it should be removed from the menu.

We are locals to the Chilworth arms and find the pub very hit and miss.. really have no idea what the experience will be when we arrive. On this occasion it was below expectations, 2 out of 4 meals (pasta and chicken) were dry and over cooked. The rack of lamb was also over cooked and not pink as you would expect... However the Mgr made some amends by providing a free dessert to 2 of the party.

A beautiful dinner served by friendly staff with a beautiful atmosphere

Friendly relaxed atmosphere, good service and good food. A place we often choose to go when in Southampton.
