The restaurant we originally planned to visit had a long waiting list, so we were fortunate to secure a table for three without a reservation at Ivy. The staff were friendly and the dark design of the restaurant added to its charm. We appreciated the separate vegan and vegetarian menu, which made ordering convenient. I opted for the Sweet Potato Curry, my father chose the vegetarian shepherd's pie, and my mother went with the salmon fillet. To share, we ordered the marinated cauliflower salad. Ivy offered a wide selection of drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. My father treated himself to a chocolate bomb, which collapsed when sauce was poured over it. The restaurant had other impressive desserts, though I believe they were not vegan. However, I did notice that they offered dairy-free ice cream on the menu. The restaurant was a bit noisy, typical for a Saturday evening, but we had a great time overall and felt lucky to have found Ivy by chance.
I dined at a restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere. They have a variety of vegan options available as appetizers, mains, and even in the dessert section. I would have given a higher rating if there were more diverse vegan choices. I appreciated that they have a separate menu for vegetarians, but also include vegan options on the main menu. The service was good.
The afternoon tea menu does not offer any vegan options. The menu mainly consists of ovolacto options, with only a few vegan choices such as salad, olives, and sorbet, which can be quite boring. It would be great to see more exciting vegan pastries, cakes, scones, and sandwiches for a more inclusive afternoon tea experience. Vegans may want to avoid this place due to the limited menu options.
We randomly stumbled upon Ivy while searching for a place to eat on a busy Saturday night when our initial restaurant choice had a long waitlist. Luckily, we were able to secure a table for three without a reservation. The staff was exceptionally polite and accommodating. I was impressed with the dark and cozy design of the restaurant. There was a convenient separate vegan and vegetarian menu available, which was very practical. I ordered the Sweet Potato Curry, while my father opted for the vegetarian shepherd's pie and my mother chose the salmon fillet. We also shared a delicious marinated cauliflower salad. The drink selection was extensive, offering a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. For dessert, my father enjoyed a decadent chocolate bomb while I noticed they had other impressive options, although they may not have been vegan. I appreciated that they also had dairy-free ice cream on the menu. The restaurant was quite lively and bustling, but this is typical for a Saturday night. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and felt fortunate to have discovered Ivy by chance.
The afternoon tea menu does not offer any vegan options. The menu mainly consists of vegetarian options and a few vegan choices such as salad, olives, and sorbet, which are quite uninspiring. It would be great if they included vegan pastries, cakes, scones, sandwiches, and a proper afternoon tea for vegans. I would not recommend this place to vegans based on the limited menu options available.
