Indian Essence - South Tyneside

The food at Indian Brassier was delicious and the service was outstanding. I have no complaints about my experience.

I visited this restaurant with a small group of friends and we were provided with a lovely selection of food. The dishes were very tasty and full of flavor. The staff was extremely friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant - you must give it a try.

Lovelyyyyyy fooood, specially the chicken tikka is marvellous, if you love spicy Indian food make sure you visit this restaurent with your family, i go there every weekend or order takeaway

Dropped by one very quiet Friday evening in Feb. Like half the Indian restaurants on South Shields the place was virtually empty, but this allows personal service.

We decided to try Indian Essence after our regular restaurant was fully booked. However, we immediately regretted our decision upon walking in as there was a strong smell of damp. We both ordered the £9.99 special on a Saturday and waited 25 minutes for our starters, even though there were only two other occupied tables. My onion bhaji was tasteless and soggy, while my husband enjoyed his chicken on purée starter. Our main meals arrived quickly. My chicken dansak was tasty but had grizzly bits of chicken, which was unpleasant. Additionally, my mushroom pilau rice had black and soggy mushrooms. My husband enjoyed his chicken saag but found his vegetable pilau to be overly sweet. Overall, the dining experience was disappointing and we will not be returning.
