The chicken burger with Asian slaw is a standout, and their breakfast options are also fantastic. The bar has a lively atmosphere, making it a great spot to unwind with friends on a Friday evening. The restaurant is decorated with modern funky art, including a must-see neon light installation. The orangery provides a Mediterranean feel, reminiscent of a Sicilian street cafe. The cocktails are exceptional and the staff is always friendly. Overall, a great place to dine and relax.
I really enjoy the venue, exhibitions, gardens, and shops, but the restaurant is a letdown. I understand their vision, but after multiple visits and pleasant meal experiences, it appears that there are issues in the kitchen. Despite having many outdoor tables, the restaurant seems scattered and lacks finesse. Somerset has a thriving food scene, so I encourage the restaurant to improve and reclaim its place among the culinary highlights of the area.
We have already visited the red bar several times and found them above all as a whole pleasant experience. our two recent visits with friends and family were however both quite disappointing. while the menu sounds exciting with many enticing drinks and directed, the actual tellers fall both in quality, presentation and quantity for the price tag. the starter of the spatula is calculated on an excess of 18£, for which they get a plate of steamed green asparagus with a drop of olive oil. the hake as main at 24£ is a small dry piece fish on a thin bed of overboiled saphir and doll of simple mayonnaise. side sourdough bread, chips or vegetables cost all extra. Paper salviettes and sticky menu do not leave a good impression. the service is also not forthcoming, they need to win and ask for everything. if it were not for the cool location, we would definitely not recommend this restaurant anymore. they have to get up their game because people can't fool long. .
We have been several times before and had noticeable experiences, but that was very disappointing. especially the lamb chop was meagre and overcooked and the flat brotpizze (with chips? was tiny, dry and disappointing. the soulful of my wife was nothing special and the...Steak-Salat was unnoticed. this was planned to return a highlight after excellent meal here before, but oh dear. we have pointed out some of our concerns about the waitress who has confirmed that other people are not impressed. Given the prices, this is not good enough.
The meal was average at an expensive price, the roast is the most expensive in the area, it did not live up to expectations, only 2 roast potatoes per person, we had to ask for cracking for our roasts, we were given a small piece...each. We we seated outside under a gazebo, I have never eaten a meal so quickly! It was a freezing March day, I would have assumed I would have been informed I was eating outside when I booked the table
