The Farmers Arms - South Ribble

Booking 28/11/2023. My Cousin was down from France. So we booked a family meal before he was heading back home on the Friday. We booked a table for 11 of us. We have previously been to The Farmers Arms and the food and Service have always been great. The Table was booked for 6.00 we all ordered food and all decided to go for the Carvery. The Service was fine we all got our food and sat down to eat The Food was terrible the roast potatoes were rock hard the Mash was all lumpy and hard the Veg was hard like it had been left out all day. My brother and Auntie both were dentures and were unable to eat the food due to it being so hard. It was the worst meal we have ever had. I was going to complain at the time but the pub was busy and did not want to make a fuss. Its a shame because it has put me off from returning. I felt embarrassed that i had taken my family out for food that was so terrible that most of us were unable to eat it.

Returned for another carvery Again thanks to Malissa going out of her way to get us a table we didn't have to wait Always helpful and proactive Thanks again

Came for my friends birthday. When we arrived we stood waiting to be seated for a while whilst the staff stood having a chat. We went to order which was quick. When we went up for the carvery. We waited for another 5 minutes until someone finally came to serve us. We were the only ones waiting. We only got told when getting the carvery that they had no pigs in blankets which we paid extra for but didn’t off and alternative option. The chef was very rude. The food was awful. Roast potatoes rock solid, cabbage was like it had been dehydrated. Mash was hard and cold. Yorkshire puddings again cold and hard. We tried to get the attention of the waitress who constantly ignored us. We waited to see if anyone would clear our plates but they didn’t. The staff waited for us to leave before clearing them. It was like they were avoiding our complaint, they could clearly see we were upset with our food. Will not be returning anytime soon

The food is always great, Carvery or menu. Me and my Daughter love it here. Last time we went though it seemed like the food had been rushed and all the vegetables were very underdone/hard, we wasted our food and my Daughter wouldn't eat her food. Such a shame, She doesn't want to go back.

I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. I visited for the carvery on Sunday and was not impressed. The restaurant appeared run-down and dirty, and the staff seemed unhappy and unfriendly. The food was disappointing, with tough beef, dried out stuffing, and lukewarm vegetables. The gravy was unappetizing. I will not be returning and cannot recommend this place to others.
