My husband and I stayed over in the hotel for a business meeting and invited a supplier to join us. After drinks at the bar we went to the restaurant. Our orders was taken and we received our drinks first. My husband and I ordered the same food we had a week ago in Loch Ronnach. The portions was smaller. As other people commented on the steak. It is cold and small. We did not complaint as we had guest. We told the staff in the morning. We will stay in the hotel again but will not have a meal in the restaurant again. Not value for money. Breakfast was good.
We started with the calamari, which appeared undercooked and was deep fried and bland. It cost £8.50 for 5 rings, not good value. The rib eye was average, with a red wine jus that tasted like beef stock gravy. The hand-cut chips were undercooked and crunchy from raw potatoes. The tomato was unimpressive and uncooked. When I asked for the bill, the waiter inquired about the food and laughed when I said it was not good. After explaining my reasons, he said he would inform the chef. No other response from the restaurant. My advice: don't bother. I'm sorry.
Almost all diners on a Tuesday night obviously business customers.Three Dressed down bikers turn up and are instantly Classified by the lady at the door.Poorest table allocated by the fire escape followed by the poorest service 54 minutes from point of order until the maincourse arrived. The Steaks were good, The Monkfish curry was not a curry at all but a nice fillet of monkfish coated in something on a bed of curry sauce served with rice and a nan bread. My dining partner asked for a fried egg on top of his steak an old trick he often does to enjoy a free egg.No chance £1.50 was on the bill for the egg.Poor service was recognised by staff who gave us a free pudding each to compensate and they did not attempt to add the 12.5% service charge.Regret will not be back anytime soon.
There were 10 of us for a family meal on a Sunday night. Not surprisingly it was very quiet. Service was good and the food was nice and good value especially the desserts. The wines are very expensive malbec £45 a bottle which though good seemed overpriced. The service was good. Slightly strange experience at the end we asked to sit the bill 5 ways , £90 each (a reasonable tip included). The server put £98 in the machine. Her English was poor so presumably a mistake not sure how £90 can be confused for £98 though! It's a good location and the food is good so we are likely to go again.
