Taquitos Locos - South Padre Island

I wish the manager would train the staff on how to properly answer the phone. They often reply in Spanish and when they do speak English, they quickly hang up. I called three times and each time they just said hello and hung up without even stating the name of the business. This has never been an issue in the past but it has gotten worse. It's easier to go somewhere else. Lately, my orders seem to have less meat in the tacos and fewer juicy limes. I expect to spend $30 on a meal, but end up having to buy multiple meals just to feel satisfied.

If I could give this place a zero-star rating, I would be honest. I do not recommend this place as all the food is too expensive for the portion size. I have seen much better taco places with higher quality and better taste. The refried beans were absolutely disgusting, tasting as if they were going bad and having a terrible smell. I know how real Mexican beans should taste, and that wasn't it. The waitress who served our table provided terrible service, rarely smiling and often wearing a sour expression. They certainly did not deserve the 20% tip that was automatically added to the bill. Overall, I have never had a worse experience at a Mexican restaurant. They charged us $177.17 for 8 people, a price more fitting for Texas Roadhouse, Olive Garden, Chili's, Cheddar's, or other expensive restaurants. The prices were not justified by the quality of the food.

My husband brought the family to dine at this particular restaurant and it was a horrible experience. The obese male waiter was extremely impolite when we complained about the lemonade. The lemonade only contained lemon, salt, and water and tasted bitter. The green salsa was mostly water and lacked flavor. The tacos were oddly prepared. To top it off, we were wrongly charged for the lemonade that we never even drank. This restaurant should be shut down due to its poor service, improper food preparation, and overcharging for items not consumed. It is a disgrace that they are still in operation and the authorities should take action. The only positive was the company of my husband who was also there with me.

Stay away! visited on 22nd april 2022. 16 of 16 guests who had eaten there on Friday night had been severely distorted. the food tasted a little and the limonada (lemade) and horchata were the worst tasting we had. the people in our party who decided to eat pizza from russos or almost food from mcdonald’s were not at all ill. a waste of $450.00 on this place, we try to eat at small businesses to help local economy, but we were wrong here.

They open at 5pm on a Saturday. Was there at opening and ordered the tacos de bistec to go. I'm less than 5 minutes away from our place. Got home, and when i grab my taco, it's cold. Hard and cold tortilla. I waited for over 25 minutes for my food thinking it was being made fresh. Ordered 2 jarritos and a Lemonade. Jarritos were hot. Thankfully was given ice for free. Lemonade was missing both lemon juice and sugar. Seemed as if it was a water down lemonade from the day before. The $9 guacamole is a 12 oz cup that is probably 3/4 full with NO CHIPS. Apparently you have to order those separately. Found out when I got home. LOL...save yourself the trouble and don't go.
