I had lunch here 3 months ago and enjoyed it, so I decided to try it again with my husband. The view across the bay was great, even on a rainy and windy day! Last time I had an omelette, but this time I decided to try the Filipino food - pork adobo and chicken with pineapple. Both dishes were delicious, not too spicy, and had plenty of meat. The total for 2 cups of tea was £29. The staff were friendly and helpful. Although I didn't see any dogs (as mentioned in a previous review), I did notice dog treats available at the counter where you order and pay.
We stumbled upon this hidden gem of a café by chance one Sunday morning while searching for a place to have breakfast. We both ordered the full English breakfast and it was incredibly tasty. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the service was top-notch. I even took a quick trip to the restroom before leaving and was pleasantly surprised by how clean it was! Despite its small size, this café is truly amazing.
We visited here with our dog as it said it was dog friendly. They did let us in but when asked if we could have some water for the dog, we were told there was a bowl of water outside at the front of the cafe on the road, and they weren’t allowed to bring it in.A very kind lady on another table gave us a small jug of water off her table and said that a previous dog owner had used a saucer to give her dog a drink. Not very welcoming and definitely no treats for the dog offered! I had the feeling that dogs were tolerated rather than welcomed. The floor is laminate I think , not carpeted. We sat inside as I don’t like sitting on a high stool with no back.Coffee, scone and tea cake were fine.Unfortunately, no cheese scone though which is my favourite. The view is lovely across the bay to Arnside.
Called today for coffee and breakfast.Coffee was excellent (and I like my coffee ! breakfast was good. What made it special was the friendly efficient and accommodating owner. As stated before there are other cafes in Grange but I think we will be back to this one !!.
We usually like visiting this place. It's child and dog friendly, the food is okay and it's in a nice convenient location in Grange. This Saturday, however, we won't be going again after a very disappointing experience. My wife had already got a table with child and newborn baby. I came in a few minutes later with my dog who was slightly damp from running in long grass but clean and we got told that wet dogs weren't allowed in. I tried to reason with them but was told I couldn't even go through to help my wife and children leave so they delivered the message and effectively kicked us out into the rain. I would understand if my dog was filthy. Im a very respectful dog owner so i wouldn't have come in if that was the case, but you either allow dogs or you don't. The cafe was quiet, it has an outside balcony area, but we weren't even allowed to bring the dog the 3m through the cafe to the outside area. My dog wasn't even leaving wet footprints. It was such the wrong decision to make and I'm sorry but you at least review the circumstances and you don't kick a whole family out with newborn baby. We planned a walk and stop there with the dog because we knew they accepted dogs and our newborn baby needed a feed. We won't be returning to this cafe in Grange as the customer service has let it down. There are other nice cafes in Grange.
