Crakeside Fish Chips - South Lakeland

We used to love coming here for fish n chips but we won't be coming again. They forgot the peas which we paid for. The portions were very small especially chips. The batter on the fish was burnt. We asked for just salt and got vinegar too which i dislike. Also for what you got it was very over priced.

Called in here on way home from a poor local stay in a nearby hotel, hoping it would cheer us up a little. It did not. Soggy batter on the fish and was no where near cooked. Chips was so over cooked they harbored half the frying oil. Never will be back, sorry its very poor.

I ordered the lightly battered fish and chips as well as a pudding with chips and gravy. My wait time was around 20 minutes, just like everyone else's. When my order arrived, there was no salt and vinegar as I had requested. The chips were overcooked and hard, seemingly the bottom scraps of cheap frozen chips. The gravy was incredibly thick, almost solid in consistency. However, the beef pudding was quite enjoyable.

The owner appears to be disrespectful to both the staff and customers. The food is mediocre and overpriced. I would not recommend this restaurant.
