Brantwood Cafe - South Lakeland

Great view, free parking, simple menu, fantastic staff. small birds waiting for some rest! we will certainly come back thank you.

We went from coniston to caffe for lunch on a wet wed. the caffe was pretty busy, but we sat fast. the menu is limited, but very unique and interesting. it is nice to find somewhere in the lakes that not only served sandwiches, toasties jackets kartoffeln. there are seats outside both have an excellent view of coniston water. the two fronts of the house personnel were very nice, but seemed to work hard! our eating came without much delay both meal times were a visual joy. many thoughts go clearly into the presentation of the menu creation. the pheasant dish was excellent very kreatiw, the seafood cahowder with a cannon was beautiful, but I would call it an Asian seafood soup instead of a chowder, with a plentiful prawns, but not great on taste. there was a good choice of drinks our flat whites were a good standard. the choice of the cake seemed good, but they are not on the display that is a scandal, so we do not disturb. the walk of coniston village was pleasant with magnificent view of coniston water is approx. 11km circular, takes only 2 hours. after the monk Coniston-Jet they must go on the road, unless they have no care about muddy fields. we returned to coniston via the jetty lake road.

Super menu, great for families and dietary needs. Great service and atmosphere, will definitely be back. The Christmas events are excellent too!

Tea no Darjeeling on offer. Tea is tea bags not tea leaves. Cake serviceable but not excellent. Scone fruity but rather dry and maybe a bit overcooked. Jam tiny glass pot. Music finished up with some kind of rap. Overall disappointing Chris and Gilly Addison former proprietors till 2015 you are missed and your standard of excellence has not been maintained.

The view is tremendous. The lunch was awful unappetising, bland, small portions, and twice the price of other places. Would not recommend at all.
