My wife I recently ordered a delicious early dinner on Friday evening (5:45) via Uber Eats. I had fajita beef enchiladas with double refried beans no rice (enchiladas covered in cheese gravy) and my wife had a dinner plate with various items. Our meals arrived in under 30 minutes and were still piping hot. The food was delicious Tia Maria's has become our new favorite order in Tex Mex for whenever we don't feel like going out.
I tried this restaurant for the first time today. I see why it's packed all the time. I do, however, have a few things to consider before giving this restaurant top honors. Service and ambiance were good. Chips and salsa reminded me of Los Cucos in flavor and temperature, which is a plus from me. I got the carne guisada, and Mom got the flautas. She let me try a flauta. The meat from the carne guisada was tender, and the rice and beans were good once you add a bit of salt to them. I did think the carne guisada sauce should have been cooked down a bit longer, because it was kinda watery. The flauta also suffered from the slightly soggy corn tortilla it was fried in. The juices from the meat ran and made it wet in the middle, although the ends were crispy. Watch how wet the food is before it comes out, because no one wants soggy food. Apart from that, everything seems to be good. I'd rate this restaurant a 4 star rating, because of the potential, but those unaddressed concerns could knock it down to a 3 star.
I was working in the area and decided to eat Mexican food. Tia María's is pretty big inside. I was seated in a booth. The chips and wonderful salsa were served. The salsa was warm and the chips not too greasy. This place is not ideal for vegetarians. I believe everything on the lunch specials menu has meat. I ordered three fish tacos. You get three on double corn tortillas. The accompanying side of rice is generous. Plus you get avocado, red cabbage and a sort of ranch dressing. The serving is generous and reasonably priced, about $10. Music is ranchera. I overheard a waiter call a client jefe. Now why wasn't I called jefa.
NEVER FAILS TO SATISFY! Great food , at an unbeatable price. Chips and salsa is to die for in my opinion , that green sauce is addictive. I order the same plate every time i come here. Huevos rancheros. I get my eggs scrambled without the salsa because i like to make lil breakfast tacos and the salsa is too much for me. I like to keep it simple for the most part. Soon i will venture into trying their fajitas and other items. I visit this restaurant exclusively for that breakfast plate : I Cannot forget to mention that The staff is always alert and mindful towards the guests , very polite and respectful. They run this place like a marathon. The wait time is sensible to your party size : Ill always have this restaurant in my mind when i'm around it. Thank y'all for some of the best meals i've had.
