The fresh sandwiches and chips that were provided were excellent. Les, Kate and Karrie looked after us all brilliantly, nothing was too much trouble. We are not regulars in the Horseshoe as we don’t live locally but whenever we do visit, the welcome is always warm and genuine. A well run pub with fantastic staff.
Can’t thank Matt and the gang for arranging a super 70th birthday celebration for my husband. Very low key just as he wanted, we invited 25 friends into the marquee at the back of the pub, patio heaters at the ready, but not needed. Les, Karrie and Kate worked so hard to supply everything that we had asked for and we were well supplied with fresh sandwiches, chips drinks as ordered. There was no pressure on us to leave and we made the most of the afternoon sunshine. Thank you all.
What a fantastic pub. I mean 5 all in one pub because it has it all. Bar meals, posh Hill Top restaurant (upstairs) entertainment, discos, tribute acts, garden with bar, sports TVs even have a juke box.Family friendly dogs welcome. We had a lovely meal in the new Hill Top restaurant . The gluten free pasta was delicious. We can’t stay away, we have been back many of times. Had a great vegan breakfast. Staff are very friendly welcoming. We will keep returning !! I’m looking forward to your Whitney Houston Tribute act your all day summer party in August. It will be a blast.
Had the lamb shank roast dinner. Cooked to perfection and so much meat! Absolutely delicious. Definitely recommend
Well what can I say !! Where shall I start? We were shown to our table but it wasn't the one we had booked. There was a lot of fuss about moving us , even though we were the only ones there at that time. The music was like something in a funeral parlour. We did asked for it to be changed but was told they couldn't do that. (Why I don't know). We were there for Sunday lunch and as we often go to the pub thought we would give it a go. Big mistake. The glasses and cutlery were dirty. The meat was dried up on the top as if it had been warmed up in a microwave. The mash potatoes tasted like smash. Everything was tasteless and bland. The horseradish sauce was the best thing on the plate. Sorry but you need to go to the Royal Oak and try there Sunday lunch. You might pick up some tips. The young girl that served us was lovely so can't falt the service. I'm sorry but I don't think I will be recommending Sunday lunch there. Needs to improve a lot before we eat there again.
