The wedding party was in the barn and was fantastic, the farmer and family were amazing at manning the bar and the breakfast the next morning was very yummy!
We had an excellent stay here thanks to the amazing setting, facilities and people at Manor Farm. David made us feel so welcome and provided everything we could have thought of (and a few things that we didn't! We stayed over the bank holiday in the fab bell tents. Definitely recommend a stay and a visit to the shop. Excellent breakfasts, meat provided for the BBQ and recommendations for things to do. Thank you so much, will be returning.
This is my first TripAdvisor review as I felt compelled to write it after visiting Manor Farm for a wedding earlier this year. It's a nice site set in a lovely part of England which was perfect to celebrate a wedding reception. However, the enjoyable day we'd had was spoilt by David the owner's rude and arrogant attitude. Some of the party had pitched tents to stay on the site when the festivities finished. On returning to the camp site, David the owner made sure to spell it out to us that he wouldn't tolerate any noise and that he'd be very annoyed if he had any complaints. Bearing in mind that we weren't being loud on returning to the campsite where there was only two other tents which weren't part of the wedding, this seemed unfair and very harsh. Nice place, but yeah, the owner's an idiot so this gets two stars and a strong recommendation to not give this guy your money and seek a camping site elsewhere. -Martin
We visited here with my brother-in-law and his toddler son. There were lots of toys for him to play with, and the owners were very carefully to make sure he was OK with their lovely farm dog too. They were also very helpful catering for my dietary requirements, cooking me a lovely breakfast with wonderful cherry tomatoes, still on the vine! I do think some people might feel more comfortable with a lunch menu, but others would prefer to pick from the counter. Would recommend the circular walk along the ridge after lunch, and also the pub down the road for a deserved pint, and if you are visiting in Sept/Oct, a tour of the chilli farm tour!
My wife and I were welcomed and hosted royally by David Hawkins, the owner of the Manor Farm Cafe. The traditional Sunday Lunch was well cooked, well presented and an absolute joy to eat. The range of local beers, ciders and wine available is both impressive and very, very palatable. In summary, I heartily recommend the Manor House Cafe and fully intend to return for a repeat the performance of this very satisfying experience in the near future.
