The Beach Fryer - South Cambridgeshire

I have been a customer of Waterbeach Chippy for 40 years, even through changes in management. I love the food, but tonight, on June 25th, I was extremely disappointed. The fish I ordered was so small inside the batter that I had to search for it, and what I did find was dry and difficult to chew. It seemed like it had been sitting on a hot plate for hours, even though I know it was cooked fresh while I waited. The batter was crispy and delicious, but there was so little fish inside. The chips were still great, but the disappointing fish ruined my meal. I hope this was just a one-time mistake and that the cook was having a bad day, because if not, my family of five will not be returning. Spending £40 on food that wasn't up to standard was very disappointing.

I returned to the restaurant last night because my husband was craving Chinese food. I ordered the dish and chips, and I must say it was the best I have ever had from there. The portion size was just right, not too big or too small. I will definitely be coming back again.
