Toby Carvery - South Bucks

We travelled over an hour for a friends Christmas gathering to your pub. The start of our visit was pleasant however after ordering 4 desserts to be told 3 of them were not in stock (understandable) to then wait 35-40 minutes to only then found out that the 4th dessert was out of stock as well was extremely disappointing. And a further 15-20 minutes to wait for the bill was a bitter end to our visit. We appreciate when things are out of stock but we don’t appreciate waiting 40 minutes for a dessert that is out of stock anyway.

Our journey from The North to Gatwick was delayed due to congestion on the Western section of the M25 apparently due to people heading to/from the South Coast opting for the Western M25 because of the numpties at the Dartford Bridge. Being opposite Uxbridge long after we should have been eating at Gatwick we needed somewhere to eat. We have good experiences at our local 'Toby ' so opted for the Uxbridge one. It was far busier than we expected but we received a warm welcome and were quickly seated. For ease we all opted for the carvery which was a good standard. The only disappointment was that I would have had to wait for another joint of beef to come out and time was pressing but the pork was excellent. There were different green beans to our local and we do not see the Uxbridge version of parsnips which were good. Everyone was on soft drinks so can 't comment on beer or wine. All in all, a good visit.
