Torba Restaurant & Lounge

Appalling service. Went on a Saturday night, past 7pm. There seemed to be only three staff going around. Staff1 who got us seated said he'd bring out the pasta menu but it never came. We just had to look it up online. Staff2 who took our orders mentally, apparently messed up on putting them on the computer so only the entrees and one of the four mains ordered came. Repeated the three other mains to Staff3 but didn't get them completely again. Only two came. Staff3's only say when we paid was "We're sorry. We didn't expect to be this busy." Right. I just hope this never happens to anyone again. Please.

Went to lunch for wife's birthday. Asked if the Mon-wed $10 entrees covered all entrees - response yes, then we ordered. Yes all except the mussels. Ok they sound delicious. The mussels came in the world's saltiest broth. Seriously inedible. Sent back, round 2 almost as bad. Then final 2 mussels were closed. Advised the waitress who advised then chef who advised us that's how they serve them here!!!!! As my wife was eating her mussels (entree) my main was served. Goulash was tasty but also salty and I love salt. Didn't stay for my wife's main, but were billed for the mussels. Pluses Russian beer and the Shiraz were top shelf. Hard to f%@k I suppose.

4 of us were very hungry and there was a 30 minutes wait at the highly rated italian restaurant next door, so we decided to eat at TORBA. The relatively empty restaurant should have raised alarm bells but we were hungry and had to eat.  Service was horrible - we waited for ages for our drinks. The waitress seemed very confused. On the menu, there was a small and large option for each meal and we all went for large portion. When the meals came, they were all smaller than the average portions in restaurants - so we asked the waitress if if gave us small portions by mistake and her response was - this is normal adult portion and small is for kids - in a very rude manner and tone. She also offered a two more pieces of pasta if we need it. Now to the food - had the beef goulash - very salty and the potato mash seemed straight out of a packet. For a premium price, the food was very underwhelming.  I will not be going this restaurant again. Bad service and mediocre food. The only positive was the decor. It might have been a good restaurant once but this new management is thrashing its reputation. At the end of our meal I told them the food was below expectation and all I got was a smile and that feedback will be given to the chef. No attempt was made to make the experience positive for us.

Most disappointed with the service and poorly educated staff. We each asked for a large serve of pasta,which took at least 30 mins to be ready and was the size of a small entree, which we finished in 5 spoonfuls!. When questioned, the waitress informed us that the small size is for kids! Never heard such nonsense in any restaurant and who in their right mind would pay $24 for a kids main meal ?? I would recommend the owner to teach their staff manners and at least make sure that each customer leaves with a full stomach, for the price that they charge!
