Ate at the Failford Inn recently. We were seated in the restaurant area this time, but wish we could have been seated in the bar area, where we ate on our last visit. It had a lovely open fire and was nice and cosy. Where we ate felt cold and uninviting. No complaints with the meals, everything we had was well cooked and tasty. Prices are definitely up from the last time we were there, but it’s the same everywhere. The staff were very attentive and friendly. Would definitely revisit when the weather is nicer.
I was lucky enough to snag a reservation just 15 minutes after calling. When we arrived, we were seated in a small and cozy bar area with only four tables, creating a snug atmosphere. The food was excellent, especially the generous portion of chicken tempura for a starter. Our main dishes of chicken skewers and pork stroganoff were tasty, although a bit pricey. The menu was limited, but that's to be expected considering the size of the restaurant. I would recommend checking out this charming little spot for a visit.
We were looking for a new restaurant to try for a birthday meal and decided on Failford. A friend recommended the Wowcher deal so we decided to give it a try. It was a great value and the restaurant itself was charming. The deer dish was absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly. We also tried the steak pie which was full of flavor. I was particularly impressed when the chef came out of the kitchen to sing happy birthday to me. Overall, a fantastic experience.
This cozy village pub is situated along the River Fail, offering a picturesque seating area with stunning views of the river that are especially lovely during the summer months.
