Before we get to that, the Sisters Kitchen Garden Cafe was a great find along Sorrento’s Ocean Beach Road (149-151) and a very pleasant way to spend a sunny day. Every cafe in Sorrento seems to be jumping on the vanilla slice bandwagon, why not when you can charge $6-7 for it. We stopped in for coffee and picked up a vanilla slice to takeaway, both came to $11. The vanilla slice was sensational. The pastry was perfectly crispy at each layer. The custard was creamy and held together well, less sloppy than Just Fine Foods and a tad sweeter too. Lovely outdoor garden setting. There are some pretty shocking reviews here for dining in but our takeaway experience was good.
