We decided to visit based on a review by Rob Broadfield. Based on our experience I think the kitchen was off its game the night we went. Rob made comparisons to Chin Chin and Long Chim, Its certainly not in that league and as a 25 year fan of David Thompson I can't see then ever getting close. Good suburban Thai is what it is and many will be very pleased with that.
Nice place to go for a casual week night catch up. The food is lovely and very tasty. The wine prices are the part that concerns me. It would be great to have a few cheaper options
Waiters were cheery, helpful and efficient! The food was great, from the starters of salt and pepper squid, fish cakes, to some mains of BBQ split chicken, beef ribs, curry Barramundi to the finishing touch of a Coffee Creme Caramel. We didn't have to wait for our meals, timing was perfect. The term 'Fusion Asian' was certainly evident in the dishes, salad so fresh and crispy. Give some of the side veggie dishes a try, they were great! There was 10 of us for a Thursday night dinner. The place was pretty packed which accounted for the very loud atmosphere - acoustics not the best. Was difficult to hear conversations from the long, wide table settings... hahaha wouldn't re on end as a romantic dinner restaurant by any means ;) But it was a good night out.
We ordered takeaway on a Saturday evening. They don't have home delivery yet but might in the near future. We ordered 4 entrees and 2 mains and the bill came to $105! The food was really good but it is overpriced for the portion size and type of food. Springs rolls were $13! Fish cales $16.50! Duck curry $30! Massaman $25! And that's just to name a few of the overpriced items. We are not stingy and dine out often but both agreed tad expensive. Our entrees were chicken wings, dumplings, fish cakes and fritters. Unfortunately the fritters didn't travel well and were very soggy but still tasted good. We didn't rate the fish cakes highly. Our mains of massaman and butter chicken were really enjoyable and tasty but the takeaway container with the butter chicken was only 1/4 filled so we felt ripped off there. The venue looked really funky and cool when I went in to collect our food. We will probably return to dine in one day and enjoy the sunset as spectacular location but don't go if you are expecting decent prices for Asian cuisine. As I said tasty food but................
