When my husband ordered them, he asked the waiter to confirm that they were indeed vegan. The waiter seemed confused by the term "vegan," which led to some confusion. Despite my husband pointing out on the menu that it clearly stated the dish was vegan and all the ingredients were plant-based, the waiter still seemed uncertain and ended up bringing us a "vegan" quesadilla instead, which was essentially just vegetables in a tortilla. It was not very appetizing and was challenging to eat. We also did not enjoy the vegan burrito, as it contained broccoli and carrots, which we did not particularly like in a burrito. However, we did appreciate that the beans and rice were vegan, as some places use non-vegan ingredients like lard.
The vegetarian enchiladas had guacamole and veggies inside. The sauce was tangy and added a nice flavor. We ordered pinto beans, but they tasted and looked more like cannellini beans to me.
While the restaurant lacks a wide variety of vegan dishes, the enchiladas are truly delightful. Packed with a medley of vegetables such as broccoli, carrots, and zucchini, and drizzled with a flavorful dressing, they are a must-try. The beans and rice are also delicious, and the guacamole is top-notch. If only there were more vegan selections, this review would easily be a 4-star rating.
This restaurant was recommended to us by several locals. The menu clearly states that they do not use lard in the beans, which was reassuring. The menu is marked with items that can be made vegan, but make sure to specify. I got the vegan enchiladas, which were filled with sauteed vegetables and guacamole, topped with salsa verde, and served with rice and black beans. The veggies were a random assortment; mostly broccoli and squash with a couple of carrot chunks and green beans thrown in. The veggies were barely cooked and flavorless. The rice and beans were good. So overall, ok, but not amazing. However, the worst part was my iced tea, of all things. It was truly horrible. The waitress was very nice and understanding about me asking for something else. Apparently they hear that a lot...
Absolutely delicious!!! This is all that's left of our Vegan burritos!!!
