Osteria Summa Terra - SOMMA VESUVIANA

We just had a family lunch. The structure is very nice although it would need more attention to maintenance. The smiling service was very positive despite the difficulties, we also had the foresight to receive a special menu for a vegetarian diner. The dishes are simple but pleasant and well presented. In fact, the quality-price ratio was good, as it is a very popular cuisine (therefore thoughtful) I must say, I also liked the fact that the portions were not excessively large, so as to get to the dessert without hassle. Unfortunately I come to the unpleasant point of our experience: I booked a table 3 weeks in advance, worried about the heat that has been plaguing Italy for months, and being pregnant, I asked during booking for confirmation that there was air conditioning in the internal room . To the first question, perhaps due to distraction, I did not receive an answer, so I asked specifying the presence of elderly people and me being pregnant, the answer was in the internal room yes , so we confirmed the reservation with peace of mind. Upon our arrival today we discovered that the internal room was occupied by a private event and therefore the table for us was on the veranda... where the windows were all open and therefore despite the physical presence of an air conditioner it was on but useless... we were dying of heat . Since it was 2pm on a Sunday in July we decide to hug the cross and sit down anyway. We got up Drenched in sweat, which could have been avoided if the management had: 1) communicated the presence of a private event 2) provided a more appropriate description of the rooms made available even at the cost of losing our reservation. What was even more unpleasant was that when I pointed out to the management the mistake made, instead of more than a due apology or at least a minimum of empathy or displeasure, I received a series of justification messages along the lines of but it 's hot, why are we here? we can do? 3 weeks ago it wasn 't that hot” Or similar… in short, really unprofessional. A shame because it is yet another beautiful place in Campania which, due to poor management, does not leave a good memory.

Nice place to be outdoors especially for children, although they should not be left alone because several points are dangerous. Upon arrival we discovered that the table reserved for us had been given to another family, so we had to wait half an hour while everything was restored, amidst the owner's colorful reproaches to the ALL FEMALE staff! As soon as we took our seats, one of the waitresses let a bottle of red wine slip out of her hand and spilled onto the table and onto two diners. The tablecloth was not replaced, it was not possible, too many people and the space was cramped to be able to move quickly. The starter was missing one course compared to the menu. The children's appetizer was not served together with that of the adults, but when the adults were almost at the first courses. The children's pens were overcooked and without salt. Our lasagna, on the other hand, is raw. The chef has a tendency to cook with too little salt, thus removing a good part of the taste from foods that might otherwise be acceptable, considering typical, home-made cuisine. Perhaps there are reasons why customers choose that place to go and eat. Personally, I hate bland food precisely because it lacks essential flavor, and since it's the second time I've been there, I had to realize that it's actually a manufacturing tendency of those who prepare it. Considering the poor welcome and the quality of the food, I feel like I rate that establishment as mediocre and I don't think I will return.

Ottima esperienza... personale qualificato e gentile... cibo squisito

Abbiamo trascorso una bella giornata. Il pranzo è stato gradito da tutti. Veramente tutto ottimo! Per non parlare dei proprietari e del personale, tutti gentilissimi e disponibili. Ci ritorneremo volentieri e lo consiglieremo a chi ama mangiar bene.
