Sugidama - Somerville

I typically don’t enjoy soba, but this restaurant has really changed my perspective, and it’s now my favorite spot in the Boston area. The service is excellent, and I’ve never been let down by the food. My favorites are the sashimi soba and uni soba. Their sushi is also fantastic. If you're ever in the area, be sure not to miss this place!

The soba at this restaurant is homemade and ranks among the best I've had in Japan. The dashi is exceptional. While it's somewhat unconventional to have both a soba shop and an izakaya in the same establishment, I hope they can make it work. It's not a major issue, but it would be a delightful touch if guests were welcomed with a lively "Irasshaimase" and a beckoning cat!

I went with a large group, and we all shared a variety of dishes including sushi, sashimi, soba, appetizers, and cocktails. The food was excellent, the service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was lovely. I highly recommend this place!
