Mike's Pastry Assembly Row - Somerville

Came here for cannoli after having dinner in Boston's Little Italy opted to come to this location to avoid the craziness of Mike's in Little Italy. Loved being able to spend a few moments choosing our fillings and shell flavors, instead of the insanity that was occurring at the other location. We even sat down and enjoyed our choices right in the store! Come to this location in Somerville it's nested into a really cute waterside shopping area!

Nike says just do it . When it comes to Mikes Pastry , I say, just don 't do it . The mass produced desserts are overtly sweet and unbalanced their insipidity dwarfed and overcompensated by their dullness and grotesque size. If you like bare sugar, this is the place for you. The place has the warmth of the Amundsen–Scott South Pole Station, a money pit for tourists, and an embarrassment to the delicacy and craftiness of classic Italian bakeries.

OMG “AMAZING” This place is absolutely amazing!! Everything looks so yummy I might have to move this place is right out my back door I will end up 500 lbs just joking. ?

I usually receive exceptional customer service but when I came to Mike’s this past weekend, I had a very uncomfortable experience. One of the staff members, blonde girl with orange looking foundation and unflattering blush had smiles and polite formalities to give to every patron but me, coincidentally the only black person in the store. First, she completely ignored that I was next in line. Then when I did step up to the counter, she shot me a very hostile look. No hello, no formality, just an ugly mug. I kindly asked for 2 strawberry cheesecakes to which she replied “Don’t have that”. I then asked about the Oreo cheesecake to which she also said “No more cheesecake”. When I mentioned cannolis instead since she failed to mention what else they didn’t have, she attempted to shrug me off by telling me to read the menu very rudely. I will not be coming back to this location. I felt very out of place and very disgusted by her not so subtle, unwarranted passive aggression towards me. Horrible for business in my opinion.
