It was also very cold as one staff member kept walking in and out the front door and leaving the door open. Ordered burgers/fries and drinks. After a few mins our server came back to say they had no fries!! So changed order to chilli nachos. I was then asked to pay despite not yet actually having any drinks or food, so I declined and said I would rather pay after. Which was a very wise decision. Whilst waiting, a driver from Just Eat entered the restaurant to collect an order. He tried to show his phone with the order number to the manager while politely asking that social distancing be maintained. The manager began to shout at the driver and refused to hand over any food saying he couldn’t see the phone. He told the driver that he should get a different job, to go somewhere else and don’t come there again!!! The manager then shouted across the restaurant saying someone deal with him as I’m not dealing with him. A women in a tracksuit then came and gave the order to the Just Eats driver. While the manager continued to shout at the poor driver for just doing his job safely. Manager then approached our table and tried to justify his actions. Saying if he needs to social distance he shouldn’t be a driver as he should be allowed to take the drivers phone to check the order. I disagreed and suggested the driver may have vulnerable family and this could be his only option for employment. The manager then said “BUT I WAS HAPPY TO GO UP TO HIM AND HE COULD HAVE HAD AIDS “ In complete shock and horror that someone would even say such a thing I responded with “what did you just say” he retracted slightly and went on about how the driver could be diseased!!! At this point our server came back to say they had also run out of chilli. Shaking our heads in disgust, we left. What an appalling ignorant man. Hideous experience from start to finish.
Food was lovely, Staff all very friendly, would definitely recommend.
. It was my second visit. Enjoyed it as much as the first time. Lovely atmosphere, service and food.
The staff didn’t care, it was a bunch of kids messing about and going outside to smoke when there was still customers. No professionalism at all. Food was inedible, over cooked, no flavour, horrible. The best part of the meal was the drink, that’s how bad it was. We paid £30 for the two of us and my god it wasn’t worth that much at all. We barely touched the food from how nasty it was. The place needs some older staff to put the young ones in place because they were running wild. Do yourself a favour whoever reads this and go to either Prezzo next door for the same price and much higher quality of food and staff, or go to the Spoons, a lot cheaper, nicer staff and better food. I’ve told everyone to avoid this place.
