During the lockdown, however, we've tried to get an Indian takeaway from our usual restaurants only to be referred to use Just eat. We've tried them but deliveries are rubbish. So, we tried an old favourite, Alishaans, so glad we did . Beautiful food and a delivery or collection in about an hour. Had forgotten how good the food was and what a gentleman Mr Alishaan is. Will definitely be ordering from here for the foreseeable future.
The takeaway has a selective menu and the food is very good the food was delivered on time and was hot
I have used this Bangladeshi Takeaway since it opened in 1987, and over the years got to know Mr. Alishaan and his staff well. When visiting the shop the chef would always come out to ask what I thought about my last meal, and how could he improve it for me. The food was always good, but unfortunately a few years ago the quality became not very good and everything was dyed bright pink, so I stopped using it. Recently I ordered a delivery from them, and was most surprised to see that it was Mr. Alishaan himself that delivered it. Now very much older, we had a good chat about the past. He told me that he had sold the business some time ago, but had now purchased it back. The food is now back to how I remember it, and so once again I shall order from them.
Fancied a feast with the mrs after looking on just eat Alishaan had the best, we ordered the chicken korma for her and I had the chicken lamb Sagwala and to share the tandoori mixed grill which for £7.50 was very small indeed the food was great to be honest not the best but was great but only downside was the naan, was drier than the Sahara desert. And dessert options only consisted of 2 things but hey ho it's an Indian place, would eat again :
Never been to Alishaan before but decided to give it a try. We called in on a Friday evening after work, expecting it to be busy but it wasn't. The man who took our our order was very polite and friendly and made us feel welcome. Good start but it quickly went downhill. Despite the place being empty we had a long wait for our food and sadly it wasn't worth the wait. The mixed starter was incredibly greasy, the chicken rogan was pretty much just sauce with very little chicken in it. It was so spicy I felt like my throat was burning so can't image what the madras and vindaloo must be like! The garlic naan was a plain naan with chopped garlic sprinkled on and burnt. I've never had such a dry and crispy naan. We ordered pilau rice and got rainbow rice. The only decent part of the meal was the poppadoms and dips, so needless to say we won't be going back! Very disappointing.
