It has the great vibe of a local, neighborhood brewery with friendly staff and not a pretentious feeling like some craft breweries unfortunately have. The layout is very nice with a front seating area and a backyard with upgraded seating facing the coast. There are some great options from IPA 's, Pale Ales, Hazy IPA 's, stouts, and even seltzies . Come on a Wednesday night and it 's musical bingo. Also a food truck may show up but check ahead.
I recently went to Culture Brewing for a macrame holiday decoration workshop. I am not a beer drinker, so I usually only go to breweries for events. Culture Brewing is a few doors down from the Belly Up music venue, so parking can get a little tight. I wound up parking about three blocks away. It was a cold day in December, and I was unpleasantly surprised to learn that the bar is totally open... not windows in front, just walls open to the street, and the workshop was also outdoors in the back garden. I walked up to the bar asking if they had wine, or something other than beer. They didn't have wine, but they did have a few other options. The bartender was vey friendly and understanding that I had come for the workshop, and helped me find something I liked. I tried a sweet-flavored beer and a couple of seltzers. Finally I settled on the apple seltzer. The garden area was really large and nicely decorated with barrels and string lights. I loved that the music all night was a playlist of my favorite 80s new wave bands. There were plenty of heat lamps in the garden, so I was warm during the workshop. This is a nice environment and I would love to hang out there during the summer.
What an enjoyable pop-up experience! I attended a Don 't Tell comedy event at Culture, and it was fantastic. I adore the ambiance, beer, and community at Culture Brewing. Despite the chill, the heat lamps kept us cozy. I wish it wasn 't set up so formal as a show though and maybe had tables around for people because it was a little tight, and that 's not the Culture environment. The downside was the pizza stand sold out by the time we arrived, even though we were punctual and had tickets. It seems some attendees were let in without tickets, which was disappointing. Nevertheless, I 'd gladly return for another visit.
Took some friends and my dog here after celebrating his 6th birthday at the dog beach LOL. All the staff were so friendly and sweet towards us and wished my dog a happy birthday. I've gone here several times and never been disappointed with the beer! I always love supporting San Diego breweries. I noticed they now serve some food in the back patio which they didn't have before so that's cool! (Although, I didn't try it nor do I know if that's there everyday)
Some of our friends recommended Culture Brewing after we visited the Del Mar Dog Beach, so we headed on over for some afternoon beers! PARKING Pretty tough considering its all street parking, but we got lucky and snagged a spot right outside! SERVICE The taproom opens up to the main front room, where there is seating along the entrance as well as a single table near the front counter. In the back, there's a patio with more seating, although I wouldn't recommend bringing a party bigger than 6 as it's hard to sit together. They have a few long tables, but just enough for 2 parties worth. DRINK Fruited Sour Gose: Really refreshing and fruity! I enjoy Goses and this was right up my alley. OVERALL I only had one drink this time around, but I'm definitely keeping this on the list of places to go if I'm in the area again!
