Happy Grill - Sofia

This is a review of Happy, one of the most popular chains in Bulgaria. The aim of my review is just to provide guidance as I felt that information available online about this restaurant is misleading. The menu does not have any indication of allergens. With a plain look to the photos of the food it was evident that there will be very few gluten free options. Upon request, the staff provided me a table with allergens corresponding to the meals listed in the current menu. However this was still not very helpful as for instance food like “sweet potato fries” indicated naturally as gluten free may still be contaminated if fried in the same oil as other food. The staff had no idea if it is fried separately and could not help me on that. There was overall little knowledge on gluten issues. So in absence of proper information I only ate salads. (Had no reaction)

Tasty, affordable and great service. I've been there three times. Meat, seafood are great. Sushi – not the best decision to have, as there are better options. But in general amazing place to have a fast lunch/dinner at a reasonable price.

Greatest service in the city with good quality food. Especially Mincho was very helpful explaining the food, quick and positive at communicating, thus made sure I had quality experience.

This is an excellent place for a group of friends and family with different tastes. Great range of cuisines, served beautifully and tastes good. The service is top-notch. Might be a chain, but this is one of my favourite chains now. They use top ingredients. Excellent value for money too. We went again to get our take-away sushi for the train. We'll packed! The only thing I didn't appreciate was a lot of plastic flowers at the entrance area. Brraks my heart. Surely they can avoid those or have real plants. But the main area interior has very good atmosphere.

I am kind of skeptical about this, because upon arriving there we read reviews related to undercooked meat and it like scared us a little. Upon arrival, we waited a very long time for a table, but the staff had nothing to do with it, they were trying as fast as they could. Waiters very nice, patient. The food was really great, I can't say anything negative about it, maybe only that the real portions were much smaller than shown in the photos. We also had great lemonade. However, the next day we felt stomach problems and I don't know whether to attribute it to the food or to chance. Anyway, for me it's a great restaurant and I recommend trying it.
