I have been a loyal customer of Minato for 25 years, and I can say that the restaurant has only improved over time. Even though I moved to New England 16 years ago, whenever I visit Atlanta, I make sure to stop by Minato for some of the best sushi on the East Coast, and arguably in the whole USA, including California.

We hadn 't been to Minato 's in a few years, it is a little bit out of the way for us. However, we brought another couple who also love Sushi and we were all thrilled with the experience. The same friendly greeting from the staff that has been there forever. Exceptional service, good social distancing protocols, and of course the most amazing food! If you can 't find it on the menu, just ask and the chef will prepare it for you. We are so glad we went to Minato 's for dinner!

I am honestly baffled by the high ratings this restaurant has received. My boyfriend and I came here for our anniversary after making a reservation. We waited 15 minutes before our order was taken, and it took an entire hour for the four rolls we ordered to arrive. After finishing those, we waited another 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. I requested gluten-free options for some of the rolls, and the server recommended the Dynamite roll over the Tampa roll. We decided to try them both, but it took another 30 minutes for them to be served. Despite the lack of customers in the restaurant during our visit, the service was still incredibly slow. The Dynamite roll tasted overwhelmingly of mayonnaise, while the other roll had the same issue. After flagging down a server to take them away, we were only charged for one roll on the bill. It took another 5 minutes to correct the mistake, and the server refused to remove the second roll from the bill. Overall, the service was terrible, the wait times were too long, the staff were unapologetic, the sushi was mediocre, and the receipts were suspiciously non-itemized. We will not be returning to this restaurant.
